Vasemaca (Va) Qumivutia
Va started her dental career in Fiji in 2010 with a Diploma in Dental Therapy and a Bachelor in Dental Surgery,
In 2018 Va and her husband moved to Sydney for a fresh start where they lived for a few years then to Tamworth where she is excited for a new chapter and to get to know many more patients and build bonds with each of them.
What Va enjoys most about dentistry is helping people closely with patients to provide the best treatment and experience for them, whether that be improving their smile, getting them out of pain as well as educating them about the importance of oral health to the overall health and wellbeing.
Both crowns and most bridges are fixed prosthetic devices. Unlike removable devices such as dentures, which you can take out and clean daily, crowns and bridges are cemented onto existing teeth or implants, and can only be removed by a dentist.
If the nerve in your tooth has died or is dying and an infection is beginning to form, you have two options left: root canal treatment or to have the tooth extracted. This procedure is completed using a local anaesthetic, which we use as well as a numbing gel on the gum beforehand.
